In this week’s Employment Services blog, we’re delighted to share some feedback we’ve received about our service!
We don’t just offer support to our clients – we support businesses too! As part of our service, our Employment Services team work to build relationships with local businesses, gaining an understanding of their needs and how they might benefit from disability employment.
When we began building a relationship with Malaga Print & Copy about 2 years ago, we were happy to help them find the perfect fit – no matter how long it took! We knew we’d found that perfect match when we met Laughlan. Our Employment Consultant, Michelle, introduced them – and the rest is history!
In this testimonial, Laughlan’s mum, Jackie, shares her thoughts on Laughlan’s employment journey!
“Our experience of working with Michelle at Workpower has been such a positive one! Michelle is a very genuine and understanding person, as well as being experienced and practical. She is also very proactive, and follows through with what she says she will do – a welcome change, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
We began talking with Michelle about one possible work place for our son Laughlan, and after Michelle thoroughly investigated the situation, we agreed it wasn’t going to work out for Laughie as we had hoped (for now, anyway). So, Michelle got to work on researching other interests and options for Laughlan. She felt that his current resume did not show the full range of his experience and skills, so updated it, after talking with our family.
Then Michelle rang us, quite excited about a vacancy that came through to Workpower from Malaga Print & Copy. The role seemed a perfect match for Laughlan. Michelle initially met with the staff at the workplace, then took Laughlan there to meet everyone, and finally myself and a Support Worker met with the staff to talk about how to best work with Laughlan.
There have been some minor “teething problems” which Michelle responded to quickly and calmly, and kept us involved at all times. She continues to meet with Laughlan fortnightly.
We could not be happier with the service Michelle has provided us with, and Laughlan is relishing his role as a working man.”
