Workpower’s Board of Directors unites industry professionals from a range of backgrounds. Our Directors’ wealth of executive experience, combined with their passion for disability services, enable them to provide strong leadership and governance for our organisation.
Chairperson Sue Slavin is a strategic leadership consultant and coach. She brings a wealth of experience from her nine years as CEO of a large Western Australian public training organisation, and has demonstrated skills in organisational transformation and strategic forecasting to achieve objectives. Sue also draws on her extensive background in electronic and print media to assist clients and organisations to develop strategic thinking and powerful communications. Sue joined our Board in 2006, served as Deputy Chairperson from 2013 to 2016, and was appointed Chairperson in October 2016.
Finance Director Michael McNulty is a senior partner of Deloitte with over 20 years’ of professional experience. He is the Managing Partner of the Perth office and the Lead Partner within Consulting Services. He specialises in large-scale transformation and business improvement projects and has led major technology change programs. Michael joined our Board as Finance Director in 2007 and served as Chairperson from 2013 to 2016.
Marie Mills is the founder and Managing Director of Mills Wilson – working with private and public sector clients in reputation management; issues and crisis management; marketing communication; stakeholder and community relations; and corporate training. Marie is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and a Member of the Institute of Company Directors. Marie joined our Board in 2003.
Helen Granville commenced her career in nursing before gaining her teaching qualifications. She has worked in the disability sector since the early 1990s and acquired considerable policy and service delivery experience while working in local and State government, in addition to having worked for more than eight years in the not-for-profit disability sector. Helen has a daughter with an intellectual disability and intimately understands the issues that families and carers experience on a day-to-day basis. Helen joined our Board in 2013.
Danny Cloghan was appointed as a Commissioner of the Fair Work Commission on 1 January 2010. Prior to joining the Commission, Danny was the Acting Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Division of the WA Department of Health. Previously he was Chief of Staff to the WA Attorney-General; Minister for Health; Electoral Affairs. Commissioner Cloghan has a Masters of Industrial Relations and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australasian Mutuals Institute. Danny joined our Board in 2015.
Geoff Blades has been employed in management consultancy and executive search and selection since 1989. He is a founding Partner of Lester Blades – Executive Search, Selection and Retention in Perth. Geoff’s consulting assignments are predominantly senior executive appointments across all industry and professional sectors, including for public and private companies, state and local governments, and within the community and not-for-profit sectors. Geoff joined our Board in 2015.
