On Thursday 27 April, our Community Programs team held another successful Carers Workshop at The Rise, Maylands!
Carers are often so busy supporting the needs of another person, that they forget to take a break, and have their own well-deserved “me time”. These carers workshops have been providing carers with a much needed break from their duties and allow them to relax and focus on their own wellbeing. Our most recent workshop saw attendees enjoy a free yoga and meditation session, facilitated by Bronte, a qualified yoga instructor who is passionate about self-improvement and mental wellness.
This workshop had attendees practise yoga postures, meditation techniques, and breathing exercises that can be used in everyday life to manage stress.
Check out our video below from this workshop!
Due to the success and enjoyment of this yoga workshop we will be hosting another free yoga session in the coming months!
Special thanks goes out to 1905 for the wonderful catering; Community Programs Executive Manager, Vikki Lahore for sharing her knowledge with carers about the National Disability Insurance Scheme; and our yoga instructor Bronte for the great session!
Our free Make Time for Me workshops are here to help you discover ways to incorporate peace and relaxation into your daily life – keep an eye out for further workshops from the Community Programs team, and we hope to see you at the next one!
