The weather is warming up and it’s time to dust off your yoga mats and towels for The Make Time For Me: Yoga workshop in October! Want to know more? Our Manager Program Development, Bithika, shares her experiences and some feedback from the last workshop in July!
We received the largest attendance for this event so far, despite the awful weather on the day! The guests were very appreciative of the opportunity to relax and care for themselves. These events are catered for the carers and care recipients who deserve a good respite from the everyday. It’s an opportunity to learn new meditative techniques and breathing exercises to enhance their wellbeing and manage any stress.
I was delighted to receive great feedback from the carers. One of them told me that they really enjoyed the stretching period – it helped them relax the tension in their back and legs and in other places they didn’t even realise were tense!
Another mentioned that the breathing and calming techniques she learnt would come in handy. She could use them to relax her muscles when she had some free time and calm her mind.
The workshop did wonders for the mind as well – stress can creep up on us over time and it can be hard to stop thinking and worrying. But the gentle and relaxing yoga movements helped them quiet their minds and take a well-earned break.
Plus, the guests enjoyed the company of others as they exercised and unwound with light refreshments after the session. Overall, it was a terrific success, and I’m expecting greater numbers for the next workshop!
Make sure you book in for the next Make Time For Me: Yoga workshop on Friday the 6th October at The Rise – don’t miss out on this opportunity!
