It’s easy to be overwhelmed by options for service providers when making your NDIS plan. Without detailed research or access to the right information you may find it difficult to make the right choice for you.
Here’s how support coordination could help you.
What is Support Coordination?
This is a capacity building support that helps you choose, manage, and review your supports. If this is considered a necessary support you will be connected to a Support Coordinator who can help you understand your NDIS plan and get the most out of your supports.
There are three different levels of support that a Coordinator can provide. This includes helping you to:
- Access different mainstream, community, and informal support options
- Decide on service providers and negotiate Service Agreements
- Arrange and manage budgets
- Review and change any supports where needed
Developing your choice and control
A Support Coordinator is your NDIS contact person to discuss any questions or issues you may have about your plan. But their most important role is to help you make better choices for yourself.
As a capacity building support, your Coordinator works with you to develop your goals, understand your plan, and manage your supports. That way you maintain as much choice and control as possible.
