As a measure to protect our customers and staff, Workpower requires everyone to be fully vaccinated unless they have a medical exemption. Fully vaccinated includes the COVID-19 booster vaccination.
Eligibility for the booster or third dose is based on when you had your second dose – people were originally required to wait five months before they were eligible, but changes in January 2022 shortened this period to three months after the second dose was received.
This means if you received your dose in January, you will be eligible to receive your booster in April.
Once you have received your booster vaccination, we ask you to please provide your updated vaccination certificates to either email@example.com (Community and Employment Supports) or firstname.lastname@example.org / email@example.com (Supported Employment at one of our social enterprises).
In addition, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has also recommended a winter booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccination aimed at increasing immunity before winter for selected groups – residents of disability care facilities and people aged 16 years and older with severe immunosuppression.
This winter booster can be given from four months or longer after the person has received their third dose or last booster dose.
Workpower does not require customers to receive this booster at this stage, but we highly encourage anyone who may be immunocompromised to speak to your GP or health professional about receiving it.
