Getting work ready with CEP

Want to work towards employment? Like SHP, our Customised Employment Program (CEP) is back at the end of this month to support those looking to launch their careers.

This customised program assists people with disability to build key skills, gain valuable knowledge, and complete a customised industry placement of their choice.

Here’s how it works.

Employment workshop

The first day of CEP sets our attendees up to take the first step in their employment journey. Once the introductions are done we hold different sessions to help you set work goals and ways to achieve them. They involve:

  • Learning about Customised Employment
  • Setting goals through the Discovery Process
  • Employment seminar with Bizlink
  • Exploring Micro enterprise pathways
  • Talks from Jobs and Skills Centre and Volunteer WA

In addition to getting professional insight, you will also work with your support worker and in teams on job analysis and team building activities.

Find your own experience

The second day is when our attendees get out and find their own work experience. These placements are determined by their unique goals and interests. Each one receives support to learn about the role and take on some work tasks.

Previous placements cover a wide variety of industries, such as hospitality work at Optus Stadium or retail experience at Best and Less and Petstock.
