We believe that early action is key to setting yourself up for the life you want. If you’re currently in school or looking to finish soon, you may not know where to start when it comes to finding a job. You also might not know of all the different work arrangements available to you.
At Workpower we want to make this process as easy as possible for you. Here are the different supports we offer students from ages 7 to young adulthood.
Supports available during school
School Holiday Program (SHP)
Eligible for: 7 – 17 year olds with NDIS funding
This group program is available across the Perth and South West regions and is suitable for children with autism. It features a host of activities to engage, excite, and educate! Children build on a range of skills and socialise with peers in a supportive environment.
Transition to Work
Eligible for: 15 – 18 year olds with NDIS funding
These supports help students explore various work options, volunteering, and develop important skills like using public transport. They can also try supported employment in our Workplace Learning Program.
Supports available after school
Eligible for: 18 years and over with NDIS funding
We offer a personalised approach to discovering your aspirations and finding work that suits you. For instance, this could be a position in open employment or a micro-business of your own.
Our social enterprises provide opportunities to work and receive support during work. Positions are available in various industries like gardening, hospitality, and administration.
We can also help you transition to work in open employment through the Disability Employment Services (DES). Our goal is to provide all the resources and support you may need to grow your career.
