The result of the last Price Guide update of 2020 includes some small changes to price limits are well as telehealth and ECI supports.
We’ve also got details on the other changes from the NDIS for next year. Read on for more details.
Price Guide update
The new Guide was released on 17th November. All changes will take effect from 1st December 2020. Download the Price Guide here.
Price limit increase
The price limit for 369 support items have been increased. This is due to the last adjustment for the Equal Remuneration Order (ERO) and helps keeps prices reasonable.
Increases range from 1.5 – 2.7% and include:
- Supports in Employment
- Social, Community & Rec Access
- Short Term Accommodation (STA) and respite
- Assistance with Self Care Activities
- Group Activities
Telehealth services
The NDIS has confirmed that telehealth services can only be claimed for participants in a different physical location to the service provider. Providers need to ensure that the services they provide are the same quality as face-to-face services.
Early Childhood Intervention supports
Participants can receive capacity building ECI supports from providers as both group and one-on-one supports.
What else is new?
Independent assessments
In November, Minister for NDIS Stuart Robert introduced independent assessments to the NDIS process. This assessment helps the NDIS understand your capabilities and what supports you need.
This is an assessment that is:
- Independent from the NDIS
- Used by the NDIS to create or update NDIS plans and supports
- Done by qualified health professionals to a fair, standardised level
- Used to create consistent reports and best understand your needs
The NDIS is currently speaking to participants, families, and providers about this process. They will trial free independent assessments for people over 7 accessing the NDIS for the first time next year.
Assessments are only needed when there is a major life change to make sure you have the support you need.
The NDIS will release more information about these changes soon. We’ll keep you updated on all the new information, so watch our news section or follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more.
