New music program with West Coast ESC

We’re delighted to announce the start of an exciting collaboration with Music Rocks Australia! Read on for full details about our new music program tailored to students from West Coast ESC!

We’ve had the pleasure of working with the West Coast Secondary Education Support Centre for some years now. Last year we introduced two innovative programs to the students. These were Intro to Performing Arts in April and Intro to Sculpture in August.

Suffice to say, it was a hit! Students enjoyed the hands-on activities and West Coast staff observed high levels of engagement, focus, and enthusiasm during classes.

And so in 2019 we’re offering another tailored program that gives them the opportunity to be rockstars!

A chance in the spotlight

For several years we’ve worked with Music Rocks Australia to deliver our popular Music Rocks sessions. Now we’re teaming up again for a new six-week program held at their professional music studio.

The weekly program began this month and runs until the 9th April. Students can try out a range of musical instruments including guitars, drums, DJs, and recording equipment. They will be supported by our experienced staff and mentored by Music Rocks professionals.

Students also have the option to perform alongside our Music Rocks group for the Term 1 concert at the Rosemount!

Aiden, Noah, Annika, and Liam get their groove on!

This program gives students a chance to:

  • Develop their listening, concentration, and expression
  • Learn preliminary instrument and vocal techniques
  • Gain knowledge of musical theory
  • Collaborate with others towards a group performance

At the end of the program each student will take home a certificate and report highlighting their progress.

So far it looks like everyone is having a great time! We can’t wait to see how they go at the performance next month. Stay tuned for further details.
