Project: Fire nozzle and monitor maintenance

Our Fire & Electrical Services division are experts in ensuring WA is prepared to face any disaster. As the Department of Fire and Emergency Service (DFES)’s chosen provider for fire equipment, we service and deliver lay flat hoses used to fight the recent bushfires.

Bushfire threat

We are fortunate the bushfire threat in Perth’s north-east was downgraded following rainfall over the weekend. However this was not before hundreds of firefighters fought to contain the fire that destroyed over 11,000 hectares of land and 86 homes.

The need to regularly maintain and service fire and emergency equipment is now more critical than ever. We take great pride in the quality of our work, knowing that we are helping to protect our communities and environment from disasters and emergencies.

New contract: fire nozzle and monitor maintenance

Having supported DFES for a number of years, the Fire and Electrical Services division awarded a one-year contract to service, maintain, and repair fire branches, nozzles and monitors until 2022. This opportunity comes with a possible three-year extension.

Each fire truck across WA requires different branches, nozzles, and monitors. Those damaged or in need or servicing are picked up by Workpower Fire Technicians from a set DFES location each week.

The team will then service, test, and repair equipment on-site to the highest standards.

Tasks involved

  • On-site repair and service
  • Thorough testing process
  • Quick and efficient turnaround
  • Extensive range of parts available in stock
  • Delivered by professional team with over 10 years’ experience

Our other contract with DFES involves the supply and delivery of firefighting hoses, couplings, ladders, and branches. We deliver, service, and repair on-site at over 150 fire stations from Kununurra to Eucla. Our experienced team also operate a mobile hose test bed to test and service on-site.

This allows DFES to provide necessary fire equipment to over 500 Bush Fire Brigades (BFB). This is critical to protecting rural and remote communities in WA.

Fire and Electrical Services have the skills, experience, and capability to service any fire and emergency assets in WA. Our quotes are competitive and our service is fast, efficient, and fuss-free.
