Workpower successfully received the tender for the large Northlink WA Southern Section project with John Holland, incorporating our environmental, nursery, and property divisions!
Client: John Holland
Project: Northlink WA Southern Section Revegetation & Landscaping Works – Guildford Road to Reid Highway
Period: 4 year contract
Location: Tonkin Hwy, from Guildford Rd to Reid Hwy
Starting in mid-2016, the Northlink WA project will provide a key transport link between Morley and Muchea. This $2 billion project is split into Northern, Central, and Southern sections, with the aim to reduce urban congestion and maximise road safety and environmental sustainability.
The wide scope of work incorporates three of our commercial divisions, and includes:
- Supply and installation of 375,000 native seedlings
- Weed control
- Salvaging and translocation of grass trees
- Direct seed broadcasting
- Erosion control supply and installation
- Complete landscaping and revegetation maintenance throughout the defects period
Not only was this Workpower’s greatest contract to date, but it also provided a rare opportunity for the environmental, nursery, and property division teams to collaborate and share experiences.
The teams have gained valuable knowledge and exposure, which may lead to greater collaborative projects in the future!
And in terms of sustainability, the Northlink WA Southern Section won the second highest Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) rating nationwide in September. The Southern Section is forecasted for completion early next year, with the whole project to be finalised by 2020.
Well done to the Environmental, Nursery, and Property divisions for their hard work and fruitful partnership with John Holland!
