SLES has reached WA!

SLES has reached WA!

Are you leaving school this year and looking for work? Do you need some support to develop your skills?

Then you’re in luck – as the School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) has just arrived in WA! We’re ready to help you get the skills you need for the job you want.

What is the SLES?

The SLES provides personalised support to school leavers during their transition to employment. It’s available for eligible NDIS participants for up to two years after completing Year 12.

It’s designed to assist students who want to find work but may not have the confidence, skills, or knowledge to go straight into employment.

This support includes:

  • Work experience in an open employment environment
  • Relevant work skills training
  • Developing life skills
  • Transport training

The focus lies in building your capacity and skills, so you can pursue your individual employment goals. We can also help you explore your career options and find work that suits your interests and abilities.

The SLES was first made available last year in the ACT, NSW, SA, and Tasmania. The process was reviewed in March 2018, and improvements from this period will be implemented in the WA rollout.

What this means for you

The SLES can give participants the early support and guidance they need to get a headstart in their employment pathway.

We’re especially excited, as this allows us to further support you and ensure that you’re always covered in this transition period.

However, participants or nominees must specifically request for the SLES to be added to their NDIS plan.

Make sure you don’t miss out! Contact us on 1800 610 665 or by email for more information.
