With the current social distancing and self-isolation recommendations in place, we support our employees who have decided to stay home or take leave from work. As a result, our teams have been significantly reduced and many find themselves at work without their usual coworkers and staff.
Taking care of your mental health is pivotal during times of isolation like this. For many of us unable to be at work, maintaining work relationships is key staying socially connected, improving our interpersonal skills, and continuing to develop skills. That’s why we decided to host a video call session at each of our workplaces to bring together everyone at work and at home.
A BIG morning tea
Sessions were held at morning tea break over three days last week. This started on Wednesday at Malaga; Bibra Lake and Mandurah on Thursday, and finished off at Belmont on Friday.
What a huge hit it was! Over 80 employees and their families signed on to join our employees at work in a big video session. Separate video areas were set up across sites so each employee could sit at a screen with drink for a catch up.
For the duration of the morning teas there was a nonstop reel of “hellos”, “how are you”, and “we miss you!” interchanged. Everyone was excited and delighted to see each other again. Some even asked when the next session would be!
Staying connected online
The Big Morning Tea was a great opportunity to come together again as a team online. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Another way to stay connected is through our online support sessions, starting this week. We prepared a range of exciting activities to help you learn new skills, try new hobbies, and have fun with friends old and new!
