Transitioning to work with Workplace Learning

Not sure what to do after school, or what employment options are available? Today we’ll show you an option for work experience at one of our supported workplaces.

Our Transition to Work program helps young people from Year 10 onwards to explore their interests, build important life skills, and try different employment options. If you’d like to try employment, we look at the options available so you can find something that fits you.

Workplace Learning

If you want to try work and need support, then our Workplace Learning initiative is perfect for you. You have the opportunity to do work experience in a supportive environment at one of our commercial businesses.

This allows you to try out working life and experience workplace culture. You’ll be part of the team with our regular employees and work on real contracts and jobs. And our experienced support team will be there to help you at every step of the way.

Our site supervisors work closely with your family and your school to make sure you get all the support you need.

Our sites

At our Wholesale Nursery at Noranda, you can explore your skills in propagation and management of greenstock. You’ll be working to grow and maintain a wide range of WA native plants.

Some of the tasks you’ll be doing include:

  • Weeding
  • Pruning stock
  • Stock preparation and management

Our Packaging & Warehousing sites in Malaga, Bibra Lake, and Belmont produce and pack a range of products for many WA businesses. Our employees count, cut, package, and wrap these products so they’re ready to be delivered.

Some examples of products we produce are:

  • Pin flags and markers
  • Gift packs
  • Blister packs

No matter your aspirations or abilities, we can help you find employment that suits you. Take a look at this article and stay tuned as we cover some more employment options available to you.
