Congratulations John Holdcroft!

The National Disability Awards Ceremony was held on Monday, 11 December 2023, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Awards recognise and promote the outstanding contributions of individuals, groups, and organisations working to create an inclusive Australia where people with disability are valued, respected, and can contribute to the community.

Our very own Employment Coach, John Holdcroft, won the National Disability Services Award for 'Excellence in Disability Support Work', announced at the Gala Dinner.

John has been with Workpower for almost nine years. His journey has been marked by dedication, persistence, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on his customers' lives.

John has been nominated three times, which is a testament to the consistent excellence he brings to his role.

"These were the first National Disability Services Awards, but I've been lucky to go to the WA equivalent twice," John said.

When asked about the significance of the award, John shared, "It's a really lovely and futile weapon against my own imposter syndrome. It's a good thing for me to think about anytime I forget that I'm doing a decent job and helping folks out in great ways."

Looking ahead, John shared his goals, saying, "It would be great to eventually expand on what I do by having a counterpart, and I've always loved the idea of helping to develop or run more programs such as therapy Dungeons and Dragons groups or a publication which I can draw from a stable of creative folk within our caseloads."

John concluded, "That's enough attention on me for one year! I am looking forward to helping bring the spotlight to other Workpower employees who deserve recognition for their exceptional work and efforts."
