Second Chance Reuse Shop (Kalamunda)
In 2022, our latest Reuse Shop opens its doors for reuse and recycling in partnership with City of Kalamunda.
Located at the City of Kalamunda’s Walliston Transfer Station and managed by Workpower, the Second Chance Reuse Shop is your one-stop-shop to buy and donate preloved household items in the Perth Hills. By supporting this Reuse Shop, you’ll not only be getting a bargain, but you’ll be conserving our environment and supporting people with disability.
Our Services
We have a diverse range of preloved goods available for you to pick up a bargain at Second Chance!
All of our goods have been donated, and proceeds go towards keeping the shop running and supported people with disability through employment.
Items available:
The household goods available can vary depending on what’s been donated, however you’re more than likely to find the following treasures:
musical instruments
furniture including cabinetry and couches
gardening tools
sporting goods like golf clubs
kitchen crockery
paintings and sculptures
children’s toys

We also accept eligible Container for Change containers, with all donations going to support people with disability through Workpower.

(except Fridays, open until 2pm).
The shop is closed Monday to Wednesday, Public Holidays and on Total Fire Bans.

The entry to Second Chance is on Lawnbrook Road in Walliston (right next to the entry to the Walliston Transfer Station).
There is a small amount of parking outside the shop.

Second Chance has been established through a partnership between Workpower and the City of Kalamunda. Workpower manages the shop on behalf of the City of Kalamunda, supporting the employment of people with disability at Second Chance and throughout Workpower’s recycling team.

All profits go towards managing the shop and supporting people with disability.

No, anyone is welcome to shop and donate to Second Chance.

Cash and EFTPOS facilities are available for you to purchase goods.

Due to the large volumes of stock moving in and out of the shop every day, we’re not able to search for specific items. The best way to know if we have something in stock would be to drop by and check out what we have available.

All items are available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved ahead of time.

We don’t accept online payments or reservations.

Visiting the shop in person is the best way, but we will also be updating our Facebook page regularly.

We work hard to ensure that our prices are competitive and fair for the products on offer. As such, we’re not able to negotiate on price.

No, but you can hire a trailer from U-Haul Trailer Hire available at local petrol stations:

Construction supplies, including:
• Doors and windows
• Metal sheeting
• Fence panels
• Eligible Container Deposit Scheme containers
We don’t accept:• Mattresses
• Hazardous waste
• Fridges
• Heavily damaged or soiled household items
• Car bodies
Items for children, including:
• Bunk beds
• Child car seats and restraints
• Child play equipment & toys for the under 3’s (toys for children over 3 years are accepted)
• Cots (household and portable)
• Prams and strollers
Prohibited items:
• Aquatic toys and flotation aids
• Blinds with chords
• Gas heaters and stoves
• Helmets (including for bicycles, motorbikes and horse riding)
• Mattresses (bed frames are acceptable)
• Vehicle jacks, ramps and support stands (but can be taken to scrap metal)

There may be times where we don’t accept items due to store capacity and storage.

All household goods donated can be dropped off in the identified cages near the Transfer Station or inside the front gate of the shop (during open hours only).
