Support for Schools
Disability support in Western Australia is always changing – and it can be challenging to know how best to support school-aged students with disability.
Workpower provides school communities with the ongoing support and guidance needed to help students with disabilities, their teachers and carers. When schools register with Workpower, we are able to offer their students, families and carers other valuable NDIS support services, including employment supports, social and community participation opportunities and support with daily living skills.
Our Plan for your Future Employment program can link in with school students with disability from Year 10 onwards, to help them prepare for after school. This program:
explores passions and interests
develops relevant skills
gains practical experience
finds potential job opportunities
Planning for students’ futures
We can attend information sessions and expos for parents who are looking for more information about NDIS services, we can cover:
How the NDIS works for disability providers
Different kind of employment opportunities – supported employment/customised employment
Community access and daily living skill development services
How Workpower supports people with disability
NDIS and service information sessions
“Workpower is an amazing place to come and enjoy the basics of learning how to work in a group situation that is safe and fun whilst also forming new skills and friendships. My students have been flourishing and showing amazing signs of maturity since they have started their one day a week work trials.”
