Meet Liz Schafferius

Liz Schafferius is one of our incredible support coaches who always goes above and beyond to support customers in the community.

This month, Liz has been recognised by her peers with the Golden Egg Award for January and announced in February.

In January, Liz supported long-time Workpower customer Daisy to stay in her own apartment two days a week — a huge step toward her goal of independent living.

Liz, along with her colleague Felicia, spent months working closely with Daisy to build her confidence.

Whether it’s daily tasks or new routines, Liz has been there to offer guidance and encouragement. She focuses on what Daisy wants and needs, helping her feel safe and capable in her new home.

Moving into a new home is exciting, but it can also be challenging. Liz worked with Daisy to develop clear safety plans tailored just for her. She also collaborated with Daisy’s allied health professionals to create simple, step-by-step emergency procedures and ran practice drills so Daisy would know exactly what to do if something went wrong.

Liz’s hard work doesn’t stop there. She has also played a key role in supporting others to move into independent living. Whether it’s setting up new processes, helping customers learn to use equipment, or answering questions, Liz makes sure everyone she supports feels prepared and confident.

Liz’s dedication and leadership are why she’s this month’s Golden Egg Award winner. Her passion for helping people live the lives they choose is what Workpower is all about.

Congratulations, Liz, and thank you for everything you do!

Second Place – Stephen Cathie

Support Coach Stephen Cathie placed second in this round of the Golden Egg, but the reason for his nomination is no less special.

Support Coach Stephen Cathie placed second in this round of the Golden Egg, but the reason for his nomination is no less special.

Stephen has been working with customer Jakeb to secure him a full-time automotive apprenticeship in Malaga!

Jakeb won't need support at work but has benefited immensely from Stephen’s advocacy and support.

Congratulations, Kaleb and Stephen!
