Workpower Receives Generous Support from Lotterywest and State Government

Disability Services Minister Hon Don Punch MLA presented a Lotterywest grant of $247,500 to Workpower today.

Following the transfer of seven Activ Foundation businesses to Workpower last year, Workpower grew its administrative, and quality and safeguarding teams to ensure consistent high-quality services continue to be delivered across a much larger organisation.

To accommodate the growing workforce, the Lotterywest grant has contributed to the expansion of Workpower’s Osborne Park office.

The refurbished offices will provide additional space to 35 staff members and hot desking space for visiting staff.

Workpower CEO Lee Broomhall expressed gratitude for the generous support of Lotterywest and acknowledged the State Government's ongoing commitment to sustainable employment opportunities for Western Australians living with disability.

Minister Punch commended the new contemporary environment, stating, "I believe that environments can help to build a sense of place, a sense of who we are and the work we are doing.”

"This is a testament to working in a contemporary environment that values the people who work here and values the people you work for."

Minister Punch emphasised the importance of sustainable employment opportunities for individuals with disability, praising Workpower's commitment to providing such opportunities.

“The value here is really about what difference we can make to the people who are vulnerable in our community.”

“For a long time Workpower has filled that potential gap and continues to look at innovative ways of supporting people into employment at a pace and at a level that really suits the individual person."

"The employment of people with disability remains a priority for the Cook Government," Minister Punch stated.

"We are proud of our track record in supporting Western Australian Disability enterprises."

“I have had the pleasure of frequently visiting some of Workpower’s sites. When I walked into this office, there was a sense of camaraderie and quiet determination, in this values-driven space."

Workpower and Lotterywest continue to collaborate to support meaningful employment opportunities and make a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disability.
