Workpower Presents: Super Sewing Jennifer!
“I think that Workpower is great, and I am really loving every day!”
Starting her Workpower journey at our Rockingham site over 20 years ago, Jennifer initially helped to run the site’s canteen before leaping into the wonderful world of Textiles.
“This is my first job,” Jennifer proudly declared, and she plans on keeping things that way!
When asked about her future plans, Jennifer confidently shared,
“I think I will stay working here at Workpower.” Her journey has equipped her with diverse skills, from mastering the sewing machine and overlocker to efficiently organising and stocking inventory.
In the early days, she orchestrated morning teas, lunch setups, and clean-ups with flair. Transitioning to Textiles brought a fresh breeze of excitement. “I make laundry bags, and I’m currently learning the ropes of putting out orders and stocking up on sweatbands and laundry bags, getting them all prepped for their orders!”
Jennifer’s enthusiasm for her job is infectious. “My favourite thing is that every day is different. You come in and say, ‘Right, what are we doing today?’ and get straight into it.”
And what about Jennifer’s favourite day of the week?
“I love Fridays because they are really relaxed,” she beams. The support at work is a game-changer for her. “The support is really good at work. I can always go to someone and explain the situation and ask for help. It’s great!”
Her advice to others considering a similar path is straightforward:
“Do it! People are friendly, staff are great, and there’s always different things happening on different days.”
With two seamless decades of expertise under her belt, Jennifer's superpower Workpower is stitching through tasks at lightning speed!
